Calhoun Lemon papers. 1934-1984, 1948-1982.

Athletic and IPTAY information includes Board of Director's minutes, membership campaign literature, mailings and statistics from the Athletic Department; historical information about early attempts to end Big Thursday; writing and revising IPTAY's constitution; Fike and Lemon research and data for a history of football; enlargement of stadium; IPTAY surplus funds; NCAA and ACC investigations; Correspondence with such people as Coach and AD Frank Howard, H.C. "Bill" McLellan, Eugene P. Williman, George Bennett, Joe Turner, Frank Jervey and Rupert H. Fike. Over the years Lemon demonstrated an interest in the total development of the University, and these papers contain evidence of his service to the alumni association, the Board of Visitors, Clemson University Foundation, the Deferred Gifts Committee and Loyalty Fund. There is some correspondence with Liberal Arts Dean Morris Cox and others related to establishing an endowed chair in the English Department. Restricted material has been placed in a separate box until 1999.
